REALITYCHARTING™ > FUNCTIONALITY

User Interface:

Web based RealityCharting Root Cause Analysis Software screen shot
RealityCharting™

Problem Definition:
RealityCharting™ captures the information required to properly define the problem.

Cause and Effect Charting:
RealityCharting™ facilitates the creation of an Apollo cause and effect chart. It easily allows the addition and movement of cause boxes on the chart. One of the strongest features of RealityCharting™ is being able to drag and drop causes anywhere as the cause and effect relationships are being worked out. Connections are made automatically based on the location of a cause. Evidence and cause-type (action or condition) are also
easily captured.

Rules Test:
The most progressive element of RealityCharting™ is the Rules Check feature. The Rules Check examines a cause and effect chart for deviations from the rules of the Apollo method. RealityCharting™ will offer suggestions that the user may accept or decline. If accepted, these suggestions will invariably create a stronger, more complete Apollo cause and effect chart. The Rules Check element will also help create more uniform Apollo analyses organization-wide.

Action Item List:
Cause paths that terminate due to unknown causes and evidence boxes that are left empty due to unknown evidence are assigned to team members by RealityCharting™ via the Action Item List function. This insures that crucial information is not left out of the analysis. This list can be exported to other programs.

Solutions:
RealityCharting™ guides the user through the cause and effect chart while prompting the user to offer solutions that challenge each cause. The solutions are then checked against established Apollo criteria. Solutions that meet the criteria can then be chosen to implement. In the final report, these solutions are assigned to team members along with due dates. This list can be exported to other programs.

Reporting:
RealityCharting™ offers a reporting module that helps the user capture the information of the analysis. Reports can be spooled out to any printer, including Adobe Acrobat (full version of Acrobat required). This allows the information to be shared with others who do not have a copy of RealityCharting™ or RealityCharting™ Reader. The report can be exported to other programs.
